Regulatory Changes
OECD – Common Reporting Standard (CRS) 3.0
- TRSuite now supports the new OECD schema CRS XML 3.0 (Amended CRS). Existing reports in versions 1.0 and 2.0 can be opened and migrated to 3.0; exports are available in 2.0 or 3.0. TRSUIT-187 TRSUIT-203 TRSUIT-204 TRSUIT-206
- The data entry screens include the new mandatory CRS 3.0 elements: Self-Certification for account holders and controlling persons, Account Type, Due-Diligence Procedure, Equity Interest Type and Joint Account. A controlling person may carry more than one type. TRSUIT-206
- Validation has been extended to CRS 3.0; the rule sets for all supported jurisdictions operate on the new schema. TRSUIT-205
- CRS 3.0 exports are checked against the official 3.0 schema. Previously the 3.0 export was mistakenly validated against the 1.0 schema, which could hide real errors. TRSUIT-206
- The customer documentation (PDF) lists the new CRS 3.0 fields. TRSUIT-206
- The CRS XML header no longer declares the FATCA namespace, and the
version="3.0"attribute is set. TRSUIT-210
OECD – Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework (CARF) 1.0
- New CARF 1.0 module for reports under the OECD Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework (schema
CARFXML_v1.0). It covers Reporting Crypto-Asset Service Providers (RCASP) with nexus details, crypto users (individuals and entities) with controlling persons, and all eight transaction types (crypto-to-fiat and crypto-to-crypto exchanges, transfers in and out, and payments for goods or services). TRSUIT-186 TRSUIT-209 - CARF XML files can be imported, edited, validated and exported in schema-compliant form. Correction reports (CARF702) are generated from a loaded report, including the roll-forward of DocRefIDs. TRSUIT-209
- Business validation covers the message header, RCASP nexus rules, crypto users, transactions, parties (with optional EU TIN check) and DocSpec consistency against the message type. Country-specific settings are stored persistently. TRSUIT-209
- Excel import and export for CARF with the new CARF_Basic_2602 template, data dictionary, sample file and macros (data entry form, data check). TRSUIT-209
- Customer documentation (PDF) for CARF: either a single file or one PDF per crypto user, optionally with anonymised file names. TRSUIT-209
- Full-text search in the CARF dashboard across all nodes of the report. TRSUIT-209
USA – IRS FATCA
- Support for the IRS schema FATCA XML v2.0.1. The version is detected automatically when a file is loaded; export and validation run against the new schema. TRSUIT-194
- The TIN of a sponsor or intermediary may be left empty in the exported XML. Changes to a reporting FI are propagated to all related account, pool and nil reports. TRSUIT-189
- The account holder TIN list accepts non-US TINs. TRSUIT-188
- The FATCA Basic Excel template accepts multiple comma-separated values, for example several residence countries. TRSUIT-198
- For account holders and substantial owners the TIN "NA" is accepted when "TIN Issued by" is set as well (IRS ICMM FAQ "Populating the TIN field"); without that attribute it is still rejected. The GIIN checks for the reporting FI and the sponsor are unchanged. TRSUIT-210
- The IDES sender metadata is now created and validated against the IRS schema FATCA-IDES-SenderFileMetadata-1.3; metadata files created with schema 1.1 or 1.2 remain readable. TRSUIT-210
- The communication type field in the "Create Transmission Archive" tab now offers all eleven IRS values, including the four added with schema 1.3 (EOIR, ICAP, JA, TAEOI); it was previously limited to the schema-1.1 set. TRSUIT-210
Switzerland – FTA (SEI, FATCA group requests)
- The SEI module generates the FATCA-XML of an information package in the IRS schema FATCA XML v2.0.1, which the FTA requires for deliveries made since 6 October 2025. TRSUIT-210
- A FATCA-XML supplied by the user is validated against the schema version declared in that file, so existing 2.0 files stay readable; a 2.0 file is lifted to 2.0.1 as soon as TRSuite rewrites it ("Update FATCA"). TRSUIT-210
- Every information package is now also validated against the FTA rule documents "Important business and validation rules for SEI XML and FATCA XML" and "Update rules" (24 January 2024); each message quotes the number of the rule that was violated. Among the new checks are the cross checks between SEI-XML and FATCA-XML (exactly one account report, Doc Ref ID, GIIN, account number, account holder, controlling persons against the substantial owners) and the permitted TIN formats including "NA" together with "TIN Issued by". TRSUIT-210
- New LOAD FROM FATCA button on the "Information Packages" tab: it takes the account number, Doc Ref ID, account category and - for organisations - the account type from the referenced FATCA-XML into the SEI form. Person data is left unchanged. TRSUIT-210
- The settings "No. of information packages" and "Max uncompressed size" are capped at the FTA limits of 5000 packages and 250 MB; higher entries are reduced and logged. Lower values split a delivery earlier. TRSUIT-210
- The password check now really rejects look-alike characters (O/0, I/l), and whitespace no longer counts as a special character. TRSUIT-210
- The bundled SEI sample files have been replaced by the four official FTA sample dossiers in SEI-XML V1.2 (new mandatory element
AccountClassification); each dossier now comes with a matching FATCA-XML 2.0.1. TRSUIT-210 - The SEI user guide has been updated: FATCA XML 2.0.1, content of an update information package per FTA User Guide v1.3, the 200 MB limit of the Filetransfer Service, and the new validation rules, LOAD FROM FATCA and the sample dossiers. TRSUIT-210
Macau – DSF AEOI Schema 1.4
- Support for the Macau national format AEOI v1.4 (effective 1 January 2027), which adopts the CRS 3.0 additions: Self-Certification, Equity Interest Type, Due-Diligence Procedure, Account Type, Joint Account, multiple types per controlling person, the OECD606 account number type, and new country and currency codes (XK, BYN, MRU, STN, UYW, VES). TRSUIT-211
- The target version (1.1 to 1.4) is selected on the General tab and drives field visibility, validation and export. When exporting to an older version, fields unknown to that version are removed automatically. TRSUIT-211
- The MO-2601 Excel template, data dictionary and sample file include the new fields. TRSUIT-211
- The check for forbidden character sequences (
--,/*,&#) required by the user guide is now applied uniformly for Macau and Malaysia. TRSUIT-211 TRSUIT-212
Malaysia – IRBM/HASiL CRS 3.0
- The Malaysia validator checks reports in CRS 3.0 format, including the new mandatory fields, whenever the file carries version 3.0. The MessageRefID check follows the mandatory structure
MY+ MyCRSID + date + four-digit sequence number. TRSUIT-212 - The delivery tab (HiDEF/CTS) offers "OECD XML 3.0" (default) and "2.0"; the retired version 1.0 has been removed. CTS sender metadata follow schema 2.0. TRSUIT-212
- The DocRefID check accepts the six-digit sequence number; the old four-digit number is reported as an error. TRSUIT-190
Cayman Islands – DITC
- The MessageRefID is built according to the tax authority's current rules (sending country, reporting year, receiving country, UUID without hyphens). A missing input is reported when the ID is generated. TRSUIT-197
Hong Kong – IRD
- The Hong Kong Excel import supports several TINs per account holder (comma-separated, with matching issuing countries). TRSUIT-193
Singapore – IRAS
- List of reportable jurisdictions updated for 2025: Rwanda, Senegal and Uganda added, Curaçao removed. TRSUIT-210
Seychelles – SRC
- The Seychelles validator is available for CRS 3.0 and checks the receiving country against the list of reportable jurisdictions. TRSUIT-210
Canada – CRA Part XIX
- OECD files in CRS 3.0 format are now accepted as input for Part XIX. The Canadian national format is unchanged; fields it does not know are not carried over. TRSUIT-206
New Features
- Auto-save in the CARF module with restore on the next start; interval and working folder are configurable. TRSUIT-209
- Rotating backups when saving CARF working files (
.bak1to.bakN, number configurable). TRSUIT-209 - Excel templates 2601 with macros for all report types (CRS Basic and variants, HK, MO, FATCA Basic/NIL/MultiRepFI): data entry form via Ctrl+Shift+N and a "Check Data" button to verify data before import. English user guide as Markdown and Word. TRSUIT-210
- At start-up the licence is checked against a block list; a configured proxy is honoured. TRSUIT-196
Improvements
- The Finland national format export contains the CRS 3.0 elements account treatment, self-certification and account type; these elements were previously left empty. TRSUIT-210
- Excel templates and data dictionaries of the CRS and FATCA families revised; every sample file now holds more than ten account reports and imports without findings. TRSUIT-210
- SEI module: reporting periods up to 2026 are available. TRSUIT-199
- Clearer error messages for invalid TIN/IN (typo in the message text removed). TRSUIT-190
- Unused views removed from the application; behaviour is unchanged. TRSUIT-210
Bug Fixes
- SEI: saving the working file failed; it is now saved correctly. The SFTP transfer no longer attempts to set file attributes, which caused errors on some servers. TRSUIT-199
- CARF: "Import CARF XML" and "Export CARF XML" could not be opened. TRSUIT-209
- CARF: the "OtherNexus" element was never written on export; the document type was lost on loading and triggered "Missing Document Type". TRSUIT-209
- CARF: transactions can now be edited; previously they could only be added and removed. TRSUIT-209
- CRS 2601 data dictionary: the controlling-person block was shifted by one column, so imports lost all controlling persons; the MultiRepFI dictionary lacked a column reference, which aborted the import. TRSUIT-210
- PDF documentation failed after the library update with "This font does not permit embedding". The font chain has been rebuilt; headings are now actually printed in bold, and names in Chinese, Hebrew, Arabic and Thai scripts are rendered instead of silently left blank. TRSUIT-210
- Opening dialogs showed the warning "Loading FXML document with JavaFX API of version 22". TRSUIT-210
Security & Dependencies
- All 24 HIGH findings of the dependency vulnerability scan resolved: 23 by upgrades, 1 documented as suppressed (ini4j) because no fixed release exists. TRSUIT-210
- Key upgrades: Apache POI 5.2.5, XMLBeans 5.2.2, log4j 2.25.5, BouncyCastle 1.85, PDFBox 2.0.35, Jackson 2.18.10, commons-compress 1.27.1, commons-beanutils 1.11.0, commons-lang3 3.18.0. TRSUIT-210
- A software bill of materials (SBOM, CycloneDX) and a VEX document are provided with the release. TRSUIT-70 TRSUIT-210
Upgrade Notes
- Java runtime: TRSuite 26.02 ships with Azul Zulu JDK 8.0.502 (with JavaFX).
- CRS 3.0: working files (TRWI) are upgraded internally to CRS 3.0 when opened. The new CRS 3.0 mandatory fields are empty for reports taken over from 1.0/2.0 and must be completed before a 3.0 export; validation flags them. Export to CRS 1.0 is no longer offered.
- FATCA: new reports are generated in schema 2.0.1.
- Macau: the target AEOI schema version is selected on the General tab. Use version 1.4 for reporting periods from 2027 onwards.
- Malaysia: the IRBM test environment has been open since 25 August 2026; schema 3.0 applies from 1 January 2027.
- Excel templates: the 2601/2602 generation replaces the 2302/1902 templates. Existing entry files should be moved to the new templates so that the CRS 3.0 fields and the check macros are available.
- Minimum date: the application requires a licence dated 1 September 2026 or later.
Known Limitations
- National formats based on CRS 3.0 for Austria, China, Hong Kong and Canada are pending until the respective authorities publish their 3.0 schemas. The generic OECD report in 3.0 is not affected.
- Luxembourg: the tax authority (ACD) has published the schema package CRS_LUX_V3.0 and the "Manuel d'utilisation NCD"; reporting in the new format becomes mandatory on 1 January 2027 (pre-validation environment from 12 October 2026, first submission for tax year 2026 due by 30 June 2027). TRSuite 26.02 still writes the current format for Luxembourg (OECD CRS 2.0 in LUX schema V2.0), which remains valid until 31 December 2026; support for the new format follows in a later release.
- Macau: the DSF's reply on the discrepancy between user guide and schema (code CRS800) and on the AEOI portal requirements is still outstanding.
- Excel export of the CRS module: the exported workbook still uses the 2601 layout of CRS 2.0 and does not contain the CRS 3.0 elements (Self-Certification, DD Procedure, Account Type, Equity Interest Type, Joint Account, controlling person Self-Certification). Excel import already supports these fields; the export will follow in a later release. TRSUIT-210
